
Dr. Adam is a senior lecturer in the Department of Family and Community Health (FCH) at the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health of the University of Health and Allied Sciences. Dr. Adam joined the university and the department in January 2015 and has worked hard and collaboratively with all faculty and staff of school as a team member. Dr. Adam teaches coordinates and leads teaching of core courses at the undergraduate level and leads the MPH program in Family and Reproductive in the department. Prior to joining the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Dr. Adam worked most part as educationist and mental /behavior health professional for more than 15 years in Ghana and in the United States.
Dr. Adam’s research focuses on reproductive and adolescent health with keen interest in rural health improvement and has done research in the areas of HIV/AIDS prevention education, HIV/AIDS stigma and social support, maternal and child health, gender and health. His research interests also include social dimensions of breast and prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Adam is currently working on channels to promote collaboration between conventionally trained medical practitioners and various associations of traditional medicine practitioners in Ghana to promote early reporting and diagnosis breast and other cancers in Ghana.
Dr. Adam holds a PhD in Public Health and Master of Science in Clinical Research Administration both from Walden University, USA. He also obtained Master of Public Health (MPH) from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Adam obtained a class honors degree in Population and Family Life Education at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Prior to all above, Dr. Adam was trained and registered as professional teacher at the Evangelical Presbyterian College of Education, Bimbilla.
