About Me

I assumed the Position of Director of Public Affairs on August 1, 2024. 

In addition to my core mandates within the University, I lecture Health Law and Nursing / Midwifery Ethics at School of Nursing and Midwifery at Level 300.

Work Experience

Before my current position, I served as the School Officer of School of Medicine. As the School Officer, I was the Head of Administration within the school reporting to the Dean. 

I earlier on served as the University's Vocational Training Coordinator, where I primarily oversaw the coordination of the vacation practical professional training programme within the University in its entirety, reporting to the Pro-Vice Chancellor.

Prior to this, I was the Head of Public Affairs within the University, where I had the opportunity to set up the Public Affairs Unit within the University (which has now become a directorate); creating desks for Public Relations, Documentation & Publications and Protocol & Passages. As the Head of Public Affairs, I, among others, worked with directorates, schools, units, committees and offices to ensure that Public Affairs is integrated at all levels of planning so as to see UHAS become a pre-eminent research and practically oriented health educational institution dedicated to community service. 

I have a goodly experience in Communication, having obtained a very instructive work experience with Strategic Communications Africa Ltd (Stratcomm Africa) โ€“ Accra, Ghana; an international total communication, reputation management and research agency dedicated to using communication as a means of enhancing performance in various contexts.

 

I served as a Strategic Plan Consultant / Facilitator working in the areas of child education and youth empowerment. In this role, I assisted in organizing workshops for a number of senior high school management teams in Ghana on how to write and implement a strategic plan.

 

I worked as a Law Lecturer, lecturing LLB students at Kings University College โ€“ Ghana, where I wrote course module handbooks for a number of LLB courses. I also worked as a Legal Assistant with a number of NGOs / charity organizations in the areas of minority rights, domestic violence and racial equality. At this position, my work involved researching and analyzing the implication of case law, legislations and regulatory matters.

 

I started my working life as English and History teacher at St. Maryโ€™s Seminary Secondary School, Lolobi near Hohoe โ€“ Ghana, which also happens to be my alma mater.

Ghanaian Traditional Leadership Roles

I am the Dusimefia (Right-Wing-Chief) of Gbi Traditional Area in the Hohoe Municipality of Ghana and the Divisional Chief of Gbi-Bla, one of the nine divisions of Gbi Dzigbe. My position as Togbe Buami makes me the head of the Dzigbe ADONTIN of Gbi Dzigbe, comprising Gbi-Abansi, Gbi-Bla and Gbi-Kpeme. 

As Togbe Buami IX, I am the Second-in-command of Gbi Dzigbe (i.e. Gbi-Hohoe, Gbi-Bla, Gbi-Wegbe, Gbi-Kpoeta, Gbi-Kpeme, Gbi-Atabu, Gbi-Kledzo, Gbi-Abansi and Gbi-Godenu), second to only Togbega Gabusu, the Paramount Chief of the traditional state.

About Me

I am the Director of Internal Audit in the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ghana. Prior to this, I was the Director, Training & Professional Development at HDS & Associates.

I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana. I am also a trained Data Protection Practitioner.
 

I obtained both my Bachelor of Commerce Degree and Diploma in Education concurrently at the University of Cape Coast and later pursued a Master of Science in Industrial Finance and Investments, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

I have several yearsโ€™ experience in Management, Accounting and internal auditing. 

I worked as Audit Manager and Head of Internal Audit and compliance at the Mechanical Lloyd Company Limited for 10 years. In 2017 I was appointed the Deputy Director, Internal Audit at the Data Protection Commission. Before joining the HDS & Associates in January 2020. I had a brief stint with the Akoa Beverages Company Limited as Chief Finance officer.

As Internal Auditor my interest have been reviewing and analysing various internal controls and facilitating in designing systems to meet risks and control environments, fraud investigations, and the review of Management as well as Financial Accounting information.

I am a Senior Research Fellow and the Director of the Centre for Health Policy and Implementation Research, Institute of Health Research (IHR), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS). I also teach postgraduate students at the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health and the School of Nursing and Midwifery in the same university. I have expertise in applied health and development economics, and I am focused on using economic approaches to enhance health outcomes

About Me

I am a Senior ICT Transformation Executive and International Digital Infrastructure Consultant with over 25 years of leadership experience delivering large-scale national digital systems, cloud migrations, enterprise platforms, data centres, broadband infrastructure, and public sector ICT transformation programmes across government, higher education, banking, and telecommunications.

Currently, I serve as Director of ICT at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), leading institution-wide digital transformation across multi-campus environments, including cloud productivity platforms, student systems, data centres, fibre infrastructure, smart classrooms, and online examinations. I previously served in national leadership roles on Ghanaโ€™s GeGov Project, delivering the TRIPS national tax system and the eRegistrar business registration platform under a DFBOT PPP framework.

I have a proven expertise in public sector digital governance, PPP project delivery, cloud and data centre infrastructure, cybersecurity, ISO 27001 & ISO 9001 implementation, business continuity planning, and enterprise systems deployment.
