About Me

I am a Lecturer at the Department of Population and Behavioural Sciences (Health Promotion), Fred N Binka School of Public Health, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Volta Region, Ghana.


Education 
I obtained my PhD in Health Promotion from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. I had my Master of Philosophy in Health Promotion from the University of Bergen, Norway, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Ghana.  I also have a teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ degree from Abetifi Presbyterian Training College.


Work Experience
As a Trained Teacher, I taught in various basic schools in Ghana. At the tertiary level, I taught at Regent University College of Science and Technology between 2011 and 2014. I am a full-time lecturer at the Fred Newton Binka School of Public Health. I have worked in various capacities, including teaching, conducting research, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.


Science/Research output
I am a public health lecturer with over 10 years of experience. My principal research interests centre broadly on women's health and well-being, emphasizing migration and health, gender dynamics and migration, neglected tropical diseases, health promotion, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and chronic diseases. I have used quantitative and qualitative methods, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, to conduct needs assessments and develop intervention guidelines to promote the physical and mental health of female internal migrants and other vulnerable populations. I have collaborated with researchers with diverse backgrounds to conduct studies that are published in credible peer-reviewed journals. I have over 28 peer-reviewed journal articles and over five conference presentations. I have 360 citations, an h-index of 13, and an i-14 index in Google Scholar. I have experience with implementation and evaluation research, team management, and community engagement. 


I am a peer reviewer for various journals, including BMC Public Health, BMC Health Services and Frontiers in Public Health
