I am an Internal Auditor in the Directorate of Internal Audit, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho in Ghana. I am currently the Head of Department (HoD) for Performance Audit & Investigations. 

I am an experienced Internal Auditor with an impeccable track record in internal control systems, operational efficiency, investigations, risk assessment and operational improvements. I am passionate about the promotion of accountability, transparency, good corporate governance and the independence of the Internal Auditor.

I started my tertiary education at Koforidua Technical University (the then Koforidua Polytechnic) where I graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy. Thereafter, I attended the University of Cape Coast to pursue Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Degree. I then attended the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) for my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Auditing. I later pursued a professional programme in Accountancy at the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, where I graduated as a Chartered Accountant and was duly admitted into membership. I am also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Ghana.

I have over 25 years of working experience, of which the last 13 years have been in this University. Before joining the University, I was the Regional Internal Auditor for Ghana Post Company Ltd., in charge of the Northen Region. In July 2017, I was appointed to head the Department of Performance Audit & Investigations, the position I have held with excellence.

I, in addition to the above, have developed keen interest in good corporate governance and the independence of the Internal Auditor. My focus is on how the Internal Auditor would be able to maintain his/her professional independence and still be able to succeed in his/her dual reporting relationship. The issue is that most management (in the public sector) view the success of the Internal Auditor as their weakness (failure). My passion is to see management supporting the Internal Auditor to ensure continuous improvements in the operations of the University in efficiently, effectively, economically and environmentally friendly atmosphere.
