I am a Ghanaian-trained and registered Pharmacist (Doctor of Pharmacy) with a PhD (Pharmacy Practice) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, which focused on oncology pharmacy. I further received training and certification as a Qualified Personnel for Pharmacovigilance (QPPV) by the Food and Drugs Authority (Ghana) and the African Collaborating Centre for Pharmacovigilance and Surveillance (Ghana). My research and academic career focus on oncology pharmacy and pharmacovigilance, as well as related fields such as ecopharmacovigilance, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, clinical pharmacokinetics and therapeutic drug monitoring.
I am currently a lecturer at the Department of Pharmacy Practice and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at https://soph.uwc.ac.za/project-item/centre-of-excellence-for-pharmacovigilance-in-southern-africa-cepsa/, conducting research to strengthen pharmacovigilance systems in Southern Africa and beyond.
Regarding publications and research dissemination, I have over 25 peer-reviewed articles and one book, also attended several conferences and have delivered podium/poster presentations at local and international platforms.
An extensive experience in postgraduate supervision has been acquired over the years through my service to the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Other community services include my role as an Academic Editor at PLOS One and a peer reviewer for several journals, membership with several committees and technical working/interest groups and subsequently as the Examination Officer for the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
Regarding my family life, I am a military spouse (married to Flt. Lt. E.O. Quaye) and a father.
