Anthony Kolsabilik Kuug (PhD) Snr. Lecturer University of Health and Allied Sciences
I am a Senior lecturer at the Department of Nursing in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ghana. I was appointed to the School of Nursing and Midwifery in the year 2014 and I am a nurse by profession.
I had my training in Registered General Nursing at the Bolgatanga Nursing Training College in the Upper East Region of Ghana. I later pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Reproductive Health at the University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, respectively. I also hold a PhD in Nursing from Nelson Mandela University in South Africa.
I worked as a nurse practitioner providing clinical nursing care to both inpatients and outpatients and supervised student nurses on clinical duties. I taught at Navrongo Community Health Nurses Training School, Presbyterian University College as well as West End University College at Asante Akim North District (Agogo) and Central Region (Kasoa), respectively.
The courses I taught included Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH), Family Planning, Maternal Health Nursing and Medical-Surgical Nursing.
My areas of research interests are maternal and child health as well as sexual and reproductive health. I have several publications on infertility among couples, family planning and adolescent sexual health. I have expertise in quantitative and qualitative research as well as training in implementation science. I am a member of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwifery Association (GRNMA).
