About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and current Dean, School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences, UHAS.  I have a BSc in Biochemistry and Nutrition, and MPhil and PhD in Pharmacology. I have had post-doctoral fellowships under the BANGA-Africa Project and BSU III (DANIDA – Denmark). I have over 15 years’ experience in teaching and research. My research focus includes Clinical Pharmacology (infectious disease and antimicrobial stewardship): prudent use of antimicrobials, antimicrobial level monitoring, and efficacy of antimicrobials in patients. I also have experience in population pharmacokinetic modelling, non-compartment pharmacokinetic estimation, and pharmacokinetic evaluation of new drug formulations. I have published over 80 research articles, 6 books, 45 book chapters, and several conference abstracts. I am Academic Editor for PLOS One and Associate Editor for Pan African Medical Journal.
