I am a Fellow of the West African College of Medical Laboratory Science (Haematology, Immunohaematology, and Blood Transfusion Science) and the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens. As a Novartis Next Generation Scientist alumnus, my research focuses on hemoglobinopathies, particularly sickle cell disease (SCD) and thalassemia.
My current investigations examine the microbiome's role in inflammation and vaso-occlusive crises in SCD patients, alongside stem cell-based therapeutic approaches. I actively seek local and international collaborations to advance translational research that improves clinical outcomes and quality of life for individuals living with hemoglobinopathies.
My vision is to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical applications, ensuring research outputs directly benefit patient care in West Africa and beyond.
