Dr. Eric Osei is a highly motivated public health academic and researcher with over 20 years of progressive experience in public health practice, teaching and research. He possesses extensive expertise in public health education, epidemiology, community health and applied research, with a strong commitment to improving population health through evidence-based practice and capacity building.

Prior to joining academia, Dr. Osei served in various leadership roles at both the regional and district levels of the Ghana Health Service, where he provided technical and programmatic leadership for several national public health programmes, including Tuberculosis (TB), HIV/AIDS and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) control initiatives. His experience in health service delivery has provided him with a strong foundation in disease prevention, surveillance, programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ghana. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Non-Communicable Diseases, Public Health Surveillance, Global Health Security, Epidemiology and other public health disciplines. His academic interests extend to curriculum development, mixed-methods research, project management and the mentorship of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

His research focuses primarily on infectious disease epidemiology, particularly Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and Malaria. He also has extensive research interests in maternal and child health, immunization, public health surveillance, health systems strengthening, and global health security. His work seeks to generate evidence that informs policy and strengthens public health practice in low- and middle-income countries.

Dr. Osei has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications in reputable international journals. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several leading journals, including BMC Public Health, BMC Health Services Research, BMC Infectious Diseases, BMC Women's Health, PLOS ONE and other international scientific journals.

He holds both Master's and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Public Health from the University of Ghana and Yonsei University, South Korea respectively, specializing in Epidemiology and Disease Control. His professional career reflects a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, impactful research and advancing public health practice through evidence-based interventions and collaborative partnerships.
